Who does what: our brokerage and the businesses around it

The Peters Team is a real estate team of Nicholas and Miriam Peters operating through Peters & Associates, Inc., a licensed North Carolina real estate brokerage. It is not a separate company from the brokerage. When you buy or sell a home with us, your agreement is with Peters & Associates, Inc., and all real estate questions should come to the brokerage through our contact page or office line at (704) 264-4572.

Over the years, our principals have also been involved with businesses in construction, interior design and home technology. Clients sometimes ask how those fit together, so this page explains each one plainly. They are not divisions of the brokerage. Where a separate business provides a service, it does so under its own agreement.

Real estate

Your Leader in Luxury is a luxury real estate website associated with Peters & Associates, Inc. — the same brokerage, focused on upper-tier homes. It is not an unrelated brokerage. Building a home

Peters Custom Homes, Inc. is a separately organized luxury custom home builder. If you are weighing an existing home against building on your own lot, construction is contracted directly with the builder under its own agreement — the brokerage can represent you in buying land or a resale home, but it does not build homes. Peters Signature Homes builds luxury spec homes — houses started before a buyer is chosen, so the design is largely set. That differs from a custom home, where the buyer directs the design from the start. Purchase and warranty terms for a spec home are set by the builder’s own contract.

Design and home technology

Emerald & Oak Design is an interior design firm. Sellers preparing a home for photographs, or buyers thinking about renovation potential, may find its work useful; any design engagement is with Emerald & Oak directly.

Peters Audio Video handles home audio, video, networking and smart-home systems. It can be a resource when you want to understand the wiring and equipment in a house you are buying, or set up technology after you move in, under its own service terms.

A personal note

Peters Signature is Nicholas and Miriam’s personal travel journal. It is not a travel agency, booking service or real estate business — just a place where they write about trips.
